Meet The Franklin's

Nikki Franklin and Kiran Franklin are Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists with over 30 years combined experience working within the health sector.

Much of their working life has been spent in London with West End performers, television productions, professional voice users, corporate health and elite athletes. They are now based in The Midlands where they are both originally from to provide high level Physiotherapy services to those with performance and non-performance backgrounds.

Nikki Franklin – Physiotherapist & Director

After qualifying from The University of Nottingham in 2008 with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, Nikki toured in Germany as a resident Physiotherapist for Cats the musical. On return from Germany she immediately started her role as a Physiotherapist in London’s leading performance clinic on Harley Street. Here she developed her role to Lead Clinician and Clinical Standards Supervisor and launched a second branch for the company in 2017 in North West London.

During her time in London Nikki worked closely with performance and non performance related injury. She is well known for her work within the arts sector as well as her work with leading orthopaedic surgical teams.

Nikki is trained in the highly specialised Vocal Physiotherapy and has had the honour of working with those from operatic, pop and musical theatre backgrounds as well as those who use their voice for a living in a non-singing capacity.

She has been a Guest Lecturer at The Annual Vocal Symposium in London as well as lecturing regularly for the Performing Arts Medicine Masters at University College London. She has led injury prevention workshops in West End theatres, for BBC Singers and in music and performing arts colleges throughout London.

Nikki is a mother and has taken the time to further study the impact of pregnancy and beyond to the human body. She can assess and treat pre and post partum women for a wide range of associated musculoskeletal conditions. She is also the Expert Physiotherapist for The Mamma Method, holding regular online Q&A’s to support clients on their online program.

Nikki prides herself on clear communication with her clientele so that there is optimal understanding of their injury status and the appropriate management plan. She is empathetic and clear in meeting her clients injury needs to return them back to optimal function in a safe yet accelerated manner.

Kiran Franklin – Physiotherapist & Director

Kiran has worked within the private health sector since 2007 after completing his first degree in Sport and Exercise Science. He initially worked in exercise rehabilitation and personal training in North London. Following this he performed a corporate Physiologist role in a busy clinic in London’s West End.

In 2012 he made the decision to return to education and completed a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree at Brunel University. Whilst doing so he trained in sports massage and went on to set up his own massage therapy business alongside his studies.

After graduating with his second degree, Kiran went on to work in amateur and elite sport. He was the pitchside trauma Physiotherapist for St Paul’s School London and carried out similar duties in professional sport.

Kiran then moved into a Physiotherapy role in a private sports clinic in Henley. Here he worked closely with sporting adolescents and adult rowers, polo players and netball and hockey teams. It was also here that he really ignited his passion for orthopaedic injury management, helping to rehabilitate a range of clients post surgery and working closely with their specialist consultants.

In 2017 Kiran moved to work alongside his wife, Nikki, in helping to set up a second branch for London’s leading performance Physiotherapy company in North West London. He utilised his experience in the orthopaedic field to expand the practices affiliations amongst the central and North West London orthopaedic surgeon network. He has rehabilitated a variety of clients post operatively from performing and non-performing backgrounds.

He enjoys working closely with both the client and their orthopaedic consultant to ensure clear communication runs seamlessly throughout the rehabilitation journey aiding in his goal of obtaining high quality results.

Kiran has previously held clinics for the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM). He has extensive experience of working with theatre performers, dancers, singers and musicians.
