Meet The Franklin's

Nikki and Kiran Franklin are Physiotherapists with over 30 years of combined experience working within the health sector.

Much of their working life has been spent in London with West End performers, television productions, professional voice users, corporate health and elite athletes. They are now based in the Midlands, where they are both originally from, to provide high-level physiotherapy services to those with performance and non-performance backgrounds.

Nikki Franklin – Physiotherapist & Director

Nikki Franklin is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Co-Director of Franklin Physiotherapy, specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, vocal physiotherapy, performance physiotherapy, and women’s health. Based in Tutbury, Burton-upon-Trent, Nikki provides specialist physiotherapy services to clients across the Midlands, helping active individuals and performers move and perform with confidence.

Nikki’s career began in high-performance and performing arts environments. After completing her BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy, she worked as a resident clinician on international theatre tours, before moving to London to specialise in performance physiotherapy. Her experience includes working with West End performers, professional dancers, musicians, and vocalists, where physical and vocal demands are high and symptoms are rarely isolated to one system.

This background led Nikki to develop a whole-body approach to vocal and physical rehabilitation, recognising the close relationship between breathing, posture, load management, and voice function.

Nikki is also an experienced strength trainee and endurance athlete, bringing real-world training insight into her clinical work. She holds the title of the Female Veteran Midlands Regional Strength Endurance Calisthenics Champion 2025 as well as the Female Veteran Strength Endurance Calisthenics National Vice Champion 2026. Her dedicated to her craft helps serve her work ethic in clinic.

Kiran Franklin is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Co-Director of Franklin Physiotherapy, specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, vocal physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, performance physiotherapy, and post-surgical rehabilitation. He has a strong orthopaedic background and is the clinic’s lead physiotherapist for post-surgical rehabilitation, including total hip replacements, total knee replacements, and other musculoskeletal surgeries.

In addition to adult care, Kiran has completed additional training in sporting adolescent rehabilitation, allowing him to safely and accurately support young athletes performing at a high level. He understands the unique challenges of growth, load management, and performance pressure in adolescent sport. He designs rehab programmes that protect long term development while enabling confident return to training.
