Nikki Franklin is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Co-Director of Franklin Physiotherapy, specialising in musculoskeletal rehabilitation, vocal physiotherapy, performance-led physiotherapy, and women’s health. Based in Tutbury, Burton-upon-Trent, Nikki supports active individuals, professionals, and performers to move, train, and perform with confidence.
Nikki’s career began in high-performance and performing arts environments. After completing her BSc (hons) in Physiotherapy, she worked as a resident clinician on international theatre tours, before moving to London to specialise in performance physiotherapy. Her experience includes working with West End performers, professional dancers, musicians, and vocalists, where physical and vocal demands are high and symptoms are rarely isolated to one system.
This background led Nikki to develop a whole-body approach to vocal and physical rehabilitation, recognising the close relationship between breathing, posture, load management, and voice function.
At Franklin Physiotherapy, Nikki specialises in:
- Persistent and complex musculoskeletal pain
- Sports and exercise-related injuries
- Vocal physiotherapy for singers, speakers, performers, and professionals with voice-related pain or tension
- Women’s health across the lifespan (including pregnancy, postnatal return to training, and hormonal transitions)
- Strength-based rehabilitation for runners, gym-goers, and busy professionals
- Performance physiotherapy for dancers, performers, and active individuals
Nikki is known for her clear communication, evidence-based practice, and person-centred care. She understands that pain and voice issues rarely exist in isolation and considers physical, lifestyle, emotional, and performance demands when creating individualised rehabilitation plans.
Alongside clinical work, Nikki is passionate about education, collaboration, and community. She co-founded Franklin Physiotherapy to create a clinic that blends clinical excellence with clarity, compassion, and long-term outcomes.
Nikki is also an experienced strength trainee and endurance athlete, bringing real-world training insight into her clinical work. She holds the title of the Female Veteran Midlands Regional Strength Endurance Calisthenics Champion 2025 as well as the Female Veteran Strength Endurance Calisthenics National Vice Champion 2026. Her dedicated to her craft helps serve her work ethic in clinic.
Nikki works with clients from Derby, Burton-upon-Trent, Lichfield, and across the Midlands, offering physiotherapy and vocal rehabilitation focused on sustainable results, confidence in movement, and resilient performance.
